As 2024 drew to a close, I found myself reflecting on what has truly been a crazy, exhilarating, and at times overwhelming year in the world of photography. After a tough 2023, I made a vow to myself: 2024 would be the year I made up for lost time. Well, let’s just say I think I might have bitten off more than I could chew!

Enter The AstroManics – a tight-knit group of photographers drawn to images of the night sky, who had one shared goal: to capture the breath-taking beauty of Iceland’s landscapes under the northern lights. Our mission? To reach the Arctic Henge at the northern most tip of Iceland, a mysterious and striking monument that would be the perfect backdrop for our photography dreams.

I just spent an unforgettable week wandering through the enchanting Fanal Forest in Madeira, and I can't wait to share the experience! This ancient Laurel forest, often shrouded in mist, feels like stepping into another world. The trees, with their gnarled branches draped in moss, create a surreal and ethereal atmosphere that's a photographer's dream. One that has been on my bucket list for a very long time.
